ChinaTown

Wayne and Ian planned a trip to Hollister Hills about a hour or so south of here to ride dirt bikes on Sunday. Originally Evan said he wanted to go and to make a long story short I talked him out of it. Numerous reasons like: He doesn't have a bike anymore, he'd have to get up at 5:00am, I'd have to go too. You get the point, so as part of my bargaining I suggested a few places he and I could go instead. So out of a fairly long list he choose Chinatown, One of my personal favorites too. We took BART into the city, walked a few blocks to "City View " our favorite Dim Sum restaurant, than started up the hill to the heart of china town, that's when we heard the firecrackers and drumming. What a treat! There was a dragon going from shop to shop stopping in the doorway to do a dance than the firecrackers would go off. Bang, Bang, Bang! You and imagine how excited we were to stumble upon this Chinese New Year tradition of blessing each business. We finished up with some shopping for "only in Chinatown" stuff and of course brought home some steamed pork buns! Yum!!
